Home Counties Canadian Canoeing
Ah said Craig, the Arctic weather of recent days looks like subsiding. Let’s go paddling if the river has thawed - so we did, and it had (mostly). We met at the Rowbarge pub, just outside Guildford: Craig, Lesley, Clare and I. A Canadian canoe each. We paddled initially north along the canal, then across to the river Wey, which was in good flood. We flew down the river, through obstacles of fallen trees and branches - a bit interesting at times!! Round the loop, and babk into the canal. Back to the start point, then on to the outskirts of Guildford and back. A total of 6.5 miles. Very enjoyable.
