Apostrophe Anxiety

My use of Bloggin's has aroused some spirited grammatical debate.  Is it indeed wise to invent contractions??  Well, for me, the acceptance of the salty term Fo'c's'le clinches the argument, so Bloggin's it is!!!

Wonderful nostalgic day

Yesterday, I visited two elderly great friends, and had a very moving and beautiful day. Gordon Almond was a school friend of my Dad's at the Royal National College for the Blind in Shrewsbury.  Gordon is now 87 and a dear, dear man.  I so enjoy his company.  I thoroughly enjoyed listening to his reminiscences of happy days long, long ago.  Each time we talk, I learn more about my dear, dear Dad. Gudrun Towler was our next door but one neighbour in Applerow, Leigh-on-Sea, from 1966 until recently.  I've always known Gudrun affectionately as 'The Duchess'.  She is a very spirited Danish lady.  A dear friend and daily 'coffee mate' of my late Mum for very many years, Gudrun is now 91, and in her autumn years.  Her light still shines, although not quite so brightly these days.  It was so lovely to see her.

Busy, busy

A busy week in London, Fareham, Athens, then the Brecon Beacons. Not much time yet to grapple with the finer points of Blogging!

Here goes.......

My first attempt at blogging..... 😁
